From the artist "A gaiwan is a tea tool that's designed to brew you tea while allowing the leaves to fully expand, unlike when it's in a sachet or a strainer. In gongfu cha, it's believed that opening up of the leaves is what allows the je ne sais quoi of the tea to be fully appreciated. The first time I tried using a gaiwan I was like, wow, I wish to be these tea leaves and soak in a warm bath. That sounds so cozy. I've thought about it ever since.
